Zen Teaching

My Training

I began my formal Zen training in 1981 and was officially recognized as a Zen Master in the Korean Rinzai tradition in 2011 by my teacher Zen Master George Bomun Bowman.  In 2012 I was ordained as a Soto Zen Priest by James Ishmael Ford, Roshi.  I have been a member of the American Zen Teachers Association since 2009.

I am one of the founders and guiding teachers of Boundless Way Zen, (www.boundlessway.org) a community of Zen practitioners and meditation groups in New England.

I currently live in Worcester, MA where I am one of the two Guiding Teachers of Boundless Way Zen along with my wife, Melissa Myozen Blacker, Roshi. Melissa is a priest, Zen Master and koan teacher in two Soto lineage traditions.

Meditation Retreats and Trainings

Melissa and I lead daily meditation opportunities and residential retreats at  Boundless Way Temple.  We also lead meditation retreats throughout New England and in Europe.
